VACCINATION PROTOCOL
Your Sylvaen puppy received the first series of puppy inoculations at the age of 7 weeks old. This first vaccination set is valid for three weeks (until the age of 10 weeks old). This “core vaccination set” includes inoculation against:
Canine Distemper / Adenovirus Type 2 / Parainfluenza / Parvovirus
Leptospira Canicola / Icterohaemorrhagiae Bacterin
Your Sylvaen puppy will need a second and third set of ‘booster’ inoculations (including any additional non-core vaccinations that might be necessary) at the age of:
10 weeks old (2nd set)
13 weeks old (3rd set)
OPTIONAL: 4th set at 16 weeks old
To be as safe as possible, until your puppy’s vaccination series is complete:
Do NOT allow your puppy to explore outdoor areas that are frequented by random dogs;
Do NOT place your puppy on the ground in areas where random dogs have defecated or urinated;
Do NOT allow your puppy to play with random dogs, no matter how friendly they seem (avoid dog parks, etc until puppy is older);
DO carry your puppy everywhere you go (in your arms or in a backpack) unless you are certain the ground is not contaminated;
DO allow your puppy to play with familiar dog(s) at their house or at your house, only IF those dogs are healthy and fully vaccinated;
DO attend a well-supervised puppy class (socialization course) if the other puppies have also had their first vaccinations.
Your puppy should be vaccinated against rabies once it is 3+ months (12+ weeks) old, in accordance with local laws. For your puppy’s long-term health and wellbeing, you must actively maintain regular inoculations against infectious diseases, including regular vaccinations against rabies (every year or every three years, etc) in accordance with local laws.
